TeachForward collaborates with the Ohio State Board of Education to administer the Ohio Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA)
The Engage platform is a pivotal component of Ohio’s two-year Resident Educator Program designed to support new teachers in their professional development and licensure advancement.
The RESA is a performance-based assessment that evaluates a Resident Educator’s ability to meet the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession. It centers around a single task known as the Lesson Reflection, which requires educators to:
- Submit a video recording (up to 20 minutes) of a classroom lesson.
- Provide written commentary analyzing their instructional decisions, student engagement, and assessment strategies.
- Reflect on the lesson’s effectiveness and its impact on student learning.
